Privacy Policy

This page explains what AI & Technology Guide (published by Taveo Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 15748291, 41 St John Street, London EC1M 4DN) collects when you visit this site, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
In short: this is an information site. We do not run ads, sell data, or require you to create an account. The only things we store are a text-size preference on your own device, and — if you email us — the details in that email.
1. What we collect
- Text-size preference. If you use the A / A+ / A++ buttons, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your browser and is not sent to us.
- Email correspondence. If you write to hello@taveo.co.uk or questions@taveo.co.uk, we keep your name, email address, and the message, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
- Basic server logs. Like most websites, our host records a minimal set of technical details for each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, and the browser type. These are kept for a short period and used only to keep the site secure and to spot problems.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not use tracking pixels or third-party ad scripts.
- We do not use analytics that build a profile of you.
- We do not ask for your name, age, or any personal detail to read the guide.
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
3. Why we collect it
We collect the small amount described above so that: (a) the site remembers your preferred text size on your device, (b) we can answer emails you send us, and (c) the hosting stays reliable and secure. We do not collect anything we do not need for those purposes.
4. How long we keep it
Emails are kept for up to 12 months after the last reply, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Your text-size preference stays only as long as it is stored in your own browser — clear your browser data and it is gone.
5. Who we share it with
We share your email details only with the email service we use to send and receive mail, and with our hosting provider, both of which process it on our instructions and under a data-processing agreement. We do not share it with advertisers or for marketing lists.
6. Your rights
Under UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:
- ask what we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to stop processing it;
- complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
To exercise any of these, email hello@taveo.co.uk with the subject line “Privacy request”. We respond within one month.
7. Cookies
This site does not set any tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is the text-size preference, which is held in local storage (not a cookie). See our Cookie Notice for the full detail.
8. Children
The guide is written for readers over 50, but anyone can read it. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we hold a child's data, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, we will say so in the guide.
